Brazil were in control leading 2-0 after only 19 minutes in Thursday's Confederations Cup group stage match in Pretoria. If Brazil gets just one point in the next match against Italy, the Brazilians will avoid European champions Spain in the semifinals.

"It's not a problem if we have to face Spain, but we have to play against Italy and our goal is to win, not to avoid Spain. Italy is the world champion and has great quality, but we can win, as we continue to grow game after game," said Robinho.

"To score in the first ten minutes is important, as it makes the opponont suffer a little. We play well and I think that in the coming matches, we will play even better, because we won't be so tired any longer after our journey.ï

With the victory Brazil looks almost certain to advance into the semifinals. Only if they lose with two goals against Italy and Egypt at the same time beat United States by three, Brazil will be send out of the competition.
